What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. We band ourselves
together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news
of salvation to a lost world.

We believe and subscribe to each of the following sections of the doctrinal statement of “The Baptist
Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000: Scripture, God, Man,
Salvation, God’s Purpose of Grace, The Church, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, The Lord’s Day, The
Kingdom, Last Things, Evangelism and Missions, Education, Stewardship, Cooperation, The Christian
and the Social Order, Peace and War, Religious Liberty, and The Family.

In addition, we believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female.
These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of
one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person (Genesis 1:26-27).
